It's 3 In a Row For Federer!

Venus Williams stages huge comeback

"Maybe I'll just punch him or something," says Andy Roddick describing how he's running out of options on how to stall Roger Federer. Well, there's plenty of reasons why Federer is world No. 1, and why he's pulled a 3-set sweep of Saturday's Wimbledon men's final winning the title for the 3rd straight year.

The Federer Express claimed his place in history after beating Roddick in 6-2 7-6 6-4 in Sunday's final. The victory also seals Federer's winning run on grass to 36 matches and he dropped only a single set in the championships, to Germany's Nicolas Kiefer in the third round.

"I really did play my best, " said the 23-year-old. "I'm very proud beca
use it's my third time." The very cool Federer kept his composure all throughout the 2-week tournament but broke into tears after his much-deserved victory.

He now joins Bjorn Borg and Pete Sampras as the only men to win three singles titles in a row at the All England Club since tennis turned professional in 1968.

Meanwhile, 14th seed Venus Williams becomes the lowest seeded player to win a Wimbledon championship, beating No. 1 Lindsay Davenport in what was recorded as the longest women's final on Saturday.

Williams outlasted Davenport 4-6 7-6 9-7 after two hours and 45 minutes in the match. This is also Williams' 3rd Wimby title, she won it in 2000-2001.

Next stopt for Federer is the US Open in August where he will again defend his title. Expect another Federer-Roddick rivalry to heat up the excitement in New York. For now, Federer is the biggest man in the tennis world.
